I'm looking after the store just like any other day. Honda san is cleaning the window while talking to mom, who's sitting in the hallway.

Ting!

A message came and I look at it. Warmth spreads inside my chest as I read the name of the sender only.

Seeing his name could bring me joy...

Sender: Hinata Shoyo
Recipient: L/N Y/N

Have you eaten lunch yet? I'm eating with Bokuto san and the other right now, they have tasty beef cutlets. On my way back after practice, I'll go buy you and mom some for dinner.

Y/N: hihi... Shoyo is really cute sometimes...

It's been six months since Shoyo and I became a couple. Shoyo always comes here after practice and when he has no practice.

He has already introduced me to his family since Kageyama's wedding. And after that, he took me to Miyagi four times. I'm getting close to Natsu, she's a bright girl just like Shoyo.

It's three in the afternoon, mom walks inside saying that she'll take a nap. I'm serving the customer right now.

The customer excuses herself from me and Honda san.

Honda: she's was graduated from high school and got accepted in xx University... we might not gonna see her as often...

Y/N: yes it's true...

Just then.

THUDD!!!

A loud thud was heard from inside the house. Honda san and I immediately run into the source of the sound.

As I pass the hall that connects the store and our house, my breath hitches. Mom is laying on her stomach on the floor.

Y/N: MOM!

I can see Honda san runs to the store to get his phone and calls an ambulance. He returned soon and help me to try to wake mom up.

Honda: Ieri san... Ieri san... the ambulance will be here any minute Y/N...

The ambulance came and the med took us to the hospital. I can't do anything as I watch mom looks worse than she has ever been.

Shoyo...

■Hinata's POV■

SMACK!

Hinata: Yosh!

Bokuto: Hey! Hey! Hey! That's good Shoyo

Atsumu: that's because of my toss....

We're all practicing right now. Atsumu san toss the ball and Bokuto san, Sakusa  san, and I take turn to hit it. As I run to the side to wait for my turn again, Meian san calls me.

Meian: oi Hinata... your phone keeps on ringing for a while.

Huh? Who is it?

I run to the bench where my bag is and hears that my phone is ringing.

It's Y/N...

Hinata: Y/N, sorry I was on the court... what's w-

Y/N: Sh-Shoyo (sobs)

Dub Dub

She's crying?

I walk further to the side of the room where it's not too crowded and noisy.

Hinata: Y/N... Y/N calm down... why are you crying? What happened?

I can hear her sobbing on the other side of the line and my heart aches.

Y/N: Shoyo... mom (sobs) mom collapsed aga-in (sobs) and... it seems like her condition got worse... (sobs) Shoyo what should I do...

Ieri san... Y/N

Hinata: Y/N which hospital? Wait for me... I'll be there...

After ending our call, I run back to the court and talk to Meian san and the coach.

Meian: Hinata, what is it? You look worried...

Hinata: Meian san, coach... I'm sorry but I want to leave early today... a family got into the hospital and I need to be there...

The coach and Meian san let me go. I immediately take a quick shower and changed. I run out of the gym and stop a taxi.

When I arrived at the hospital, I head to where Y/N told me Ieri san's room is. On my way, I meet Honda san and we walk together.

Honda: her condition... is... really bad Shoyo...

As we reach the hallway where the room is, I see Y/N standing outside of the room, looking through the huge glass window. When she senses my presence her tears roll down her cheeks.

Y/N: Shoyo... (sobs) mom...

I pull her onto me, holding her trembling body in my arms. I look inside the room where Ieri san is laying on the bed, some types of equipment are attached to her.

I try to calm Y/N down, and the doctor came. She told us that Ieri san's condition isn't good. She lets us in and the three of us walk in.

I pull a chair and let Y/N sits next to the bed, resting her head on her mother's hand that she holds. After a while, Y/N's breathing changes, and I notices that she fell asleep.

Honda: she must be tired, she has been crying for hours...

I brush her soft hair and see that the side of her eyes is puffy. Honda san excuse himself saying that he will call his wife who's really close to Ieri san.

As I stare at Ieri san's face, her eyes are open. I'm about to wake Y/N up but Ieri san shook her head no. She smiles at me and lifts her left hand for me to hold.

I take her hand in mine and hold it gently. She's so weak and I can feel that almost no meat on her hand.

Hinata: mom... don't move too much...

Ieri san smiles at me though she looks so weak.

Ieri: Shoyo... I'm glad Y/N has you... please... make sure that she never feels lonely... please... make her happy...

Please don't say things like this...

I lean closer and put my head on her hand.

Hinata: I promise... I will... I will make her happy...

Ieri san pulls her hand from mine and strokes my head.

Ieri: if it's Shoyo... then I'm sure you will...

But... she will be devastated if you're not around too...

Hinata: but... mom should see it... as I make her happy... and... we still need to go to that park that you mentioned before...

Her eyes widened and she gives me a sad smile.

Ieri: I... would love to...

Then... please... let's do it...

So Y/N will be happy...

■3rd Person POV■

As Ieri and Hinata are talking to each other, Y/N wakes up and sees her mom's eyes open. She's overwhelmed with happiness and hugs her.

Y/N: m-mom... I'm so worried... please don't do this to me again...

Ieri strokes her daughter's hair. The daughter that she loves so much.

Ieri: Y/N... I... really love you...

Y/N's tears roll down her cheeks, make a wet spot on the bedsheet.

Y/N: I love you too mom... so hurry up and get better... let's go home...

Ieri gives Y/N a sad smile, and Hinata could see the meaning behind this smile. He clenches his hands, biting his lips.

Ieri: I... will always be by your side... I wish... to se you hap..ppy (breath hitches)

Y/N: M-Mom?

Hinata: Mom?

Ieri smiles weakly between coughs

Ieri: I... will see you make Y/N happy Shoyo... from... somewhere els-

Ieri is having trouble breathing and Hinata immediately press the bell, he also runs out of the room to call for a nurse.

When the doctor and nurses came Hinata holds Y/N who's crying. She struggles to be let go so she could run to her mother side.

Y/N: Mom! Mom!

Hinata presses Y/N close to him, his heart hurt to see her like this. Hinata worriedly stares at the doctor that surrounding Ieri.

Honda san came and stands next to Hinata and Y/N. He too looks worried and he keeps praying.

As the doctors use the defibrillator on Ieri for a while, they then put it down. And one of them walks closer to Hinata and the other.

Y/N couldn't take her eyes off her mother, as the nurses and doctor are taking off every wire that connected to her.

Doctor: we... have been trying our very best ..

Hinata's arms on Y/N's body tightened. Y/N doesn't hear what the doctor says as she only watches the nurse pulls the sheet higher to cover Ieri's face.

Y/N: m-mom? Shoyo... why... they cover mom's face?

Doctor: we're so sorry... that... we couldn't save her...

Hinata turns Y/N's body around, making her face pressed to his chest. She's no longer struggling, her mind is blank.

Her knees became weak and Hinata crouches down with her, still holding her tightly.

Today...

A flower withered...

And another flower...

Is affected by it...

Even the sun...

Doesn't shine like it used to...
